Tiger Newsflash 3-11-16

Good afternoon!


This has been an awesome week here at Columbia Elementary! Our students continued to work hard as the end of the Third Nine Weeks came to a close on Thursday afternoon.  This means that all grade cards will be sent home next Friday on March 18th.

While the students are gone today for a long weekend, the instructional team and I spent this morning focusing in on our English Language Arts and Math Instruction.  Most of this conversation was centered around better aligning our instruction from grade level to grade level.  This time has been very valuable and will directly benefit our students.

A special thank you to the McDonald's on South Main Street 
in Mount Vernon!

On behalf of myself, our PTO, and all of our students, I would like to thank the staff at the McDonald's Location on South Main Street for all of their hospitality and support.  They were fantastic to work with on Tuesday Night as the Teachers, Darcy Miller, and I worked behind at their restaurant.  I was very impressed by the level of patience and professionalism of Mrs. Kelly Welker and her entire staff!!

I have to say I have a whole new appreciation for  what the folks in the Fast Food Industry do on a daily basis.  Believe me there is a whole intense process that comes with that Big Mac and French Fries Value Meal.

As a result of your support, our PTO raised $500 from this event.  This money will be used to support our students at Columbia Elementary. Thank you!
