Tiger Newsflash 1-17-16

Good evening!

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend with your family and friends. As my wife has went south this weekend to visit with her family and lifelong friend, I was hard pressed tonight for dinner.  I had to strain really hard and cook up a fantastic Chicken Panini, Delicious French Onion Soup, a Fruit Cup, and a large Green Ice Tea.  Fortunately my friends at Panera where able to help:) LOL!!

In honor of this great holiday weekend, I want to share with you a brief message from Kid President:

Please see your weekly updates below:

Tiger Up Time!

I am continuing to be impressed with how well our Tiger Up Time is going this year! Last Friday, we spoke in our mentor groups about Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs with our students just before our assembly with Sheriff Shaffer of The Knox County Sheriff Department.  As we work with the best and the brightest students, it is our goal to continue their success throughout their lifetime.  Unfortunately, we all know of someone that has allowed alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs to derail their life away from being successful. I am certain that all of us do not want anything but the very best for our children.

We want to continue to be grateful for all of the support that we continue to receive from our parents, community members, and staff. Our gratitude is specifically for the amount of dedication and effort that has been shown for our Tiger Up Program.  This has been simply illustrated through the attendance we have received from parents in our Tiger Up Assemblies, the several community members that have volunteered their time to us (i.e. both our Mount Vernon Fire Chief and Knox County Sheriff).  Thank you for your continued support Mount Vernon! Way to TIGER UP!
