11-13-16

Good evening!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with your family and friends! I know I had a great weekend with an awesome Buckeye victory, quality time with my wife and family, and work at our Fire Department. I am looking forward to another great week ahead.

Last week, It was great to have a great week with our students, family, and community. I always enjoy moments that we can share our Best and Brightest, our students, with the community that we serve.  Last week we had that opportunity through our students performances and great fellowship.

Please enjoy your weekly updates and a few reminders below:

Donuts with Parents

We are so thankful for everyone that came out to our Donuts with Parents event on Monday morning! We served approximately 325 donuts.  It was awesome to have everyone together! I think it is very valuable to have all of together to fellowship with our students.  Thank you for coming!

Veterans Day Assembly

Our students did an excellent job honoring those men and women that have served and are serving our country!  As I travel around the world it becomes very evident that we live in a fantastic country with great freedoms.  None of this would be possible without the men and women that have given their lives and given their service for all of us.  Thank you!!!

Coming Soon: Thanksgiving Lunch For ALL STUDENTS on 11/22

On Tuesday November 22nd, we are going to try to do something a little different this year for our students.  I want to give our students a family style meal.  This meal would be FREE to all students.  This meal would include all students and staff in our gym at the same time for a sit down meal.  All students would be sitting with their mentors. We want to make it special for them.  Students will not be given a second choice as a meal, but just their Thanksgiving Lunch.  If a student is going to pack their own meal on this day, please let us know by 11/18.

To do this correctly, we will need the help of about 20 volunteers to help serve and clear tables.  We would need all 20 to be here from 11:30am-1pm (following serving the students, I would provide lunch for them). During recess time following the Thanksgiving Lunch, I may be also be soliciting help to supervise on the playground.

If you are interested and available to volunteer for this event, please call or e-mail us at: 1-740-393-5975 or mdill@mvcsd.us .
