Good morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend with your family and friends! I want to start off this Tiger Newsflash by speaking directly to all of those people that supported our Annual Columbia Elementary PTO-Ariel Foundation Park 5K last Friday.  There were so many people and organizations that took their time and/or money to support our efforts to improve our playground facilities for our students.

I cannot even justify in words the amount of gratitude that we have for all of these individuals and organizations.  Although the weather was a damper on the evening, it was great to see our students continue to have a great time dancing and exploring the vehicles that were brought by MVPD, MVFD, Knox County Sheriff Department (including their boat), and Buckeye Auto Care, LLC. This was a very thoughtful gesture by these organizations to lighten the mood for our students, which did not go unnoticed.  Thank you!

To continue expressing our level of appreciation, there was no doubt that our parents, 8 Sister's Bakery, and many different organizations including our very own MVHS Girls Track Team made this wet evening a lot more enjoyable for our students.  I was also very impressed by the management of The Ariel Foundation Park to make sure that last Friday evening continued to be a safe environment for all participants. They were super professional and supportive.  We cannot say thank you enough to everyone that gave their support in so many different ways!

If anyone still needs to pick up their 5K T-shirt, please contact or stop by our Main Office.  We would be happy to give it to you.  I am looking forward to seeing the great progress that is going to be made on our playground this summer because of all of you.  Thank you!
