Tiger Newsflash 11-5-17

Weekly Message

Good afternoon!

I hope everyone is doing well! Last week we had many events take place at Columbia Elementary...I cannot tell you enough how appreciative we are of our MV Columbia Elementary Family:  Your love continued to be exhibited through our Trick or Read night, Book Fair, Biztown, our Nine Weeks Awards Assemblies, and the support we received for one of our colleagues as they are going through a very difficult loss.   We truly want you to know that we appreciate you and your continued support of the service we provide for your children.

On another note, be sure that you have moved ALL of your clocks and watches back one hour. In addition, make sure you have changed your batteries in your smoke detectors.  If you don't have smoke detectors in your home, now is the time to get them...This single act could be life saving to you and your family...

Tiger Up!
Matt

New Updates

JA Biztown-5th Graders

I cannot express to you enough how proud we are of our students.  On Tuesday, we saw our students in a different light.  Our students conducted business as CEOs, CFOs, Salesworkers, Bankers, Construction Workers, and other important business professionals.  It was a proud moment to see our students rise to the occasion and conduct business in a responsible manner.  I really appreciated Mrs. Ferguson, Mrs. Justice, and Mr. and Mrs. Ing for making this possible for our students.

Columbia Elementary Family Thanksgiving Dinner-11/21-Volunteers Needed
(Five People More Needed)
Our tradition at Columbia Elementary is to provide a family style Thanksgiving Lunch to all of our students.  As we are a family that spends a lot of time together, it is important to us that all of us celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional meal provided to all students.  The traditional meal will include turkey, mash potatoes, gravy, corn, pumpkin pie, and milk. This meal will be free of charge to all students.  The entire school will be eating this meal in our gym at the same time with each mentor group sitting together.  In order to make this event a traditional success, we need your support:  We need 20 individuals to help serve food. If you are interested, please sign up using the form below:

  • Cut them out following the dotted lines on all 4 sides of the label - the box top company is very strict on this!

  • Glue or tape them to the box top sheet, if you need more sheets, you may copy the sheet or use a separate sheet of paper to tape them or have the school send more home
