Good afternoon! I hope everyone is having a great long weekend with your family and friends! With the recent events in Florida, I want to reassure you that Mount Vernon City Schools continues to keep the safety of your children as our top priority. It is a common practice to have continuous conversations about how to improve the safety of all involved. These conversations also include routine scenario based drills and improvements to our physical structures. This will to be our standard. An example of these improvements included preplanned training (prior to the Florida Tragedy) on Active Shooters in Schools. Here are a couple resources to click on to help you discuss these horrific events with your children: APA-Article NASP Article I hope these are helpful to you and your family! Tiger Up! Matt | ||||
